portner: End of semester....

HOORAH ! END OF SEMESTER ! WOOHOO ! HAPPY HAPPY !

Well on thursday, 22/10/09, our special coffee arrived. It took some 1.5mths for that coffee to arrive. Before explaining what's so special about this coffee, let's do some light warm ups...

...and up, and up and down...and up.....

Tiong and I decided to have dinner at this italian restaurant at applecross. Tiong wanted to have his dinner at cafe noel, but for a change of environment, we tried this italian restaurant, il ciao (or something like that). This place is quite packed, a lot of people, nice atmosphere, the food is not that bad, quite reasonable.

I should start remembering what we ordered =/

I think this is some il ciao pasta. It's a bit watery, maybe it's supposed to be that way...

Pizza with bacon..blah blah blah..and cheese. Eat it while it's still hot, and the cheese is just mouth watering you can even taste it with ur eyes.

We then head of to cafe noel....our special coffee....is SHIT (literally). Well it WAS SHIT, then it was processed and then we drink the shit of that cat.

That's right folks. Kopi Luwak. The most expensive coffee in the world !

By definition :

Kopi Luak (pronounced [ˈkopi 'luwak]) or Civet coffee is coffee made from coffee berries which have been eaten by and passed through the digestive tract of the Asian Palm Civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus) and other related civets. The civets eat the berries, but the beans inside pass through their system undigested. [1]

Imagine. The shittiest stuff is the most expensive too. What's the world coming to? It's $70 for 2 cups, one for Tiong and one for myself. 2 guys, 2 cups they say !

There we have it ! We drank shit, it tasted good.

Well the final say is that, kopi luwak is a very mild coffee but with a pretty medium aromatic flavour. Does it make sense? How should I explain it...?

Hmmm...let's just say you're drinking water but has that coffee flavour and does not leave the aftertaste of coffee in your tongue and mouth. It's smooth. Like evian water sort of.

Yeah well....glad to know a coffee enthusiast such as myself had the experience of drinking this shit coffee (coffee luwak).

THEN THEN...on friday - saturday (23/1o - 24/10), our youth group, went to mundaring for a camping experience. Well more on stargazing...

I saw a shooting star ! There were several shooting stars that night, but I just managed to see one. I was busy eating most of the time. They cooked beef, sausages, chicken using the campfire. Cool stuff !

First camping experience for myself. My back is sore....man.
